Disney Auditions for a live action version of ‘Tinkerbell’ to be highly anticipated

It has just been officially announced by Disney that they have plans to make a live action romantic comedy movie featuring one of their favorite animated characters Tinkerbell. The name of the film will be ‘Tink’ and Elizabeth Banks attached to star. Elizabeth Wright Shapiro is penning the script after writing ‘Keiko’, which will become Banks’ directorial feature debut.

Concept for the project, for which the deals are still being wrapped up, plays with the mischievous nature of the Tinkerbell character. It was developed by Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman, who co-run Brownstone Productions. Jennifer Gibgot, Matt Smith and Adam Shankman of Offspring Productions will also produce from their Disney Lot offices. McG and Mary Viola will co-produce through their Wonderland Entertainment banner.

Casting information for lead and supporting roles will be posted here as they become available, as well as any Disney Talent Search dates and locations. The shooting start dates and locations have not been announced yet, but this production should get off the ground fairly soon after Elizabeth Banks wraps filming on “The Hunger Games”,.
