Walt Disney Studios has now scheduled open casting calls for an actress to voice the role of new Disney Princess Moana, the dates and times are listed below.
The official Disney casting call is seeking an actress who can voice a 14-24 year old Polynesian Princess. Casting call submission details are now posted below. The open casting calls dates and locations are also now posted below. To be considered, all talent must be legally eligible to work in the entertainment industry in the State of California and Los Angeles. That information is available for download here.
Walt Disney Animation Studios is now in pre-production on the new upcoming animated comedy-adventure feature film Moana. The film is set 2,000 years ago in Oceania, and centers on a spirited teenager who learns that the future of her people is in jeopardy. Along with a lovable pot belly pig and a legendary hero, Moana searches for a mythical island, traversing the open ocean and encountering mystical sea creatures and underworlds on an action-packed quest to save her world and make her ancestors proud.
Moana will be directed by Academy Award nominees Ron Clements and John Musker. Musker and Clements also wrote the screenplay along with Academy Award nominee Taika Waititi. Ron Clements and John Musker previously directed and wrote the Disney films The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Princess and the Frog. Executive producer is Academy Award winner John Lasseter, whose credits include Cars, WALL·E, Bolt, Finding Nemo, the Toy Story films, Wreck-It Ralph, and Frozen among many others. Two-time People’s Choice Awards nominee Dwayne Johnson has been cast to play the Demi-God Maui. Moana is scheduled to hit theaters on November 23, 2016.

Disney has launched an international talent search to discover an amazing talent to play the role of the new Disney Princess Moana. Minors and foreign talent must be legally eligible to work in the entertainment industry in the United States, and in California (see below). You MUST prepare and be ready to perform a song in the style of either Disney, musical theatre tunes or show songs. You MUST be between 14-24 years old. This is an animated feature film, therefore your looks are not important, however you must have strong singing abilities. Prior experience in film is not requires. You also must speak fluent English.
NOTE: The next open casting call location, date and time, will be posted here in the next week or two.
If you can not attend the open casting call and wish to self-submit, send via postal mail, a recent color headshot, and send a self-made video of yourself framed close up, showing your head and shoulders with plenty of light on you. Introduce yourself. Practice this several times before you film. Tell us why you would make a great Moana. Then tell us your email contact and your phone contacts. Get your parents permission if you are under the age of 18 years. Then widen the frame and film yourself in mid shot singing part of a song that you do well (no longer than one minute). Upload the video to an online video hosting website such as YouTube or Vimeo. Mail a headshot and resume along with a cover letter clearly stating the EXACT URL link to your online video to the following:
